Microsoft End of Life – 2020

Microsoft End of Life

2020 sees a number of Microsoft products become End of Life.

After a decade after its initial release, on 14th January 2020, Windows 7 reached the end of support. Microsoft no longer provide users with security updates or fixes which often help protect your PC.

In addition to new features with emerging technology it’s now more important than ever that you upgrade to a modern operating system such as Windows 10, to help keep your organisations data safer.

For companies requiring more time to move to the latest product, the Extended Security Update (ESU) program is available for certain legacy products as a last resort option. The ESU program provides security updates only for up to 3 years, after the End of Support date.

Other Microsoft products reaching End of Life in 2020

Following Windows 7 desktop envrioment, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Exchange Server 2010 also reached the End of Life on 14th January 2020.

Towards the end of 2020 on October 13th, Office 2010, SharePoint Server 2010 and Project Server 2010 will all reach the end of their life.
